1900s Edwardian Floral Silk Satin Damask & Bobbin Lace Tea Gown
1900s Edwardian Floral Silk Satin Damask & Bobbin Lace Tea Gown
This exquisite circa-1900 Edwardian tea gown is crafted from a lovely ivory silk satin damask, woven throughout with a delicate floral motif.
The softly draped crossover bodice is framed by a high neckline of fine handmade bobbin lace. The three-quarter-length sleeves are finished with double-faced turned-back cuffs, petite decorative accents, and coordinating corded bobbin lace. A softly gathered cummerbund encircles the waist and clasps at the side with tasseled silk cords. From the fitted waist, the floor-length skirt falls in beautifully layered, overlapping panels, while discreet hook-and-eye closures secure the gown at the back and sides. A truly exceptional example of an early Edwardian tea gown.
